As many of you know, and as I’ve written in this blog before, I was somewhat hesitant, then pleasantly surprised when I moved into Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District about one and a half years ago. Bobby Bright had just been elected, and I was concerned about my Representative being a Democrat, but early on, Mr. Bright was loyal to his constituency and earned my support and praise. While I have begun to have some minor concerns with Congressman Bright, I remain mostly satisfied with his representation, though I am beginning to see some signs that concern me regarding his allegiance to the Democratic Party. With that in mind, I have begun to “get serious” again about the upcoming primaries, so that our candidates in the November elections are truly representative and faithful to the people in Alabama, and to America as well.
I have found a candidate who matches me perfectly on every issue, in every philosophy, and in our shared vision of the direction our country needs to take to return to the values and principles our Founding Fathers envisioned. I won’t bore you with the fact that he is a very successful businessman. Or that he is a Marine, as was his father and brother. His charismatic enthusiasm and common sense discussions are a refreshing departure from the canned speeches and regurgitative campaigning mindlessly spit out by most politicians. He talks WITH you, not AT you.
Simply put, he’s “one of us;” a Tea Partier; a small businessman; a Conservative; a Constitutionalist; a Patriot; an American; and though not a native, a true Alabamian. He wants to de-fund the healthcare bill, support and fund our Veterans programs and ou debt to them, fight illegal immigration while supporting and encouraging legal immigration, shrink the Federal Government, re-state Alabama’s State Sovereignty, embrace and strengthen our 2nd Amendment Right, begin the process to instill the Fair Tax, and fight constantly to remove the corruption and inefficiency which abounds in the District of Columbia. In short, he wants to do what we ALL want to do, and he has committed himself and his family to helping us ALL achieve our goals.
I would encourage all of you in my District (Alabama’s 2nd) to take a minute and visit his website at http://www.rickbarberforcongress.com and learn a little more about this fine young veteran, budding politician, and true American Patriot.
If you agree with me, please TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW, and let’s get out and vote to get him through the primary on June 1st so that he can then focus on Congressman Bright’s seat in Washington. We need him there, and he needs our help and support to fulfill his promises to us.
