So today the City Council of Seattle voted unanimously to boycott Arizona. Not just tourism, but to not buy any products from companies based in Arizona. They should have made a call to the nice folks on the City Council of San Diego to see how that decision is working out for them.
And so the cries for a national boycott of Starbucks have begun, Starbucks being the easiest, most visible Seattle-based company for the 70% of Americans who support Arizona to send a message through.
Don’t take it personally Starbucks, you had a good run. You’re going to take the heat because you operate out of a city where arrogance and ignorance rule the day. If it isn’t affecting Seattle, then your City Council evidently thinks it isn’t really a problem. Someone has to take the fall, and 70% of America says it shouldn’t be Arizona. Americans overwhelmingly support Governor Brewer, Arizonans, the Border Patrol, and SB 1070.
Sure, we’ll miss the pimply faced tree hugger who hands us our “Venti Dark Roast of the Day with no room for cream” with that big grin on his face and then asks if we’d like to donate $4 to the Mozambique Spotted Leopard fund. And we’ll miss standing behind the nouveau riche soccer Mom who can’t decide if it is “a latte or a cappuccino…..and is it half-caff, decaf, egg-white…..and do you have any half almond, half hazelnut flavored white chocolate macadamia lactose-free creamer?”
And the paper sleeves that are supposed to help you hold a cup of something that was brewed 7 miles below the surface of the Sun. We’ll miss those. Hey, at least they were 70% recycled!
What we won’t miss is the massive amount of money that illegals cost this country every day; the rising number of crimes of violence against Americans by illegals who cross the border at will; the deaths of proud ranchers, policemen, Border Patrol agents, and families on vacation; and the struggles our brothers and sisters in Arizona have to face every day simply because our Federal Government will not do the job we asked them to do. If you’re really that concerned about that negative impact SB 1070 is going to have on illegal aliens, why don’t you offer Arizona to deport them to Seattle where you can take care of them “fairly.” They’ll be happy to have access to the coffee, at least. And with the money you’ll be giving them, Lord knows they can afford it! But somebody has to take the fall.
I imagine we’ll get over not having Starbucks long before we would have gotten over turning our backs on Arizona.
Along with 70% of the United States outside of Seattle, I stand with Arizona, and Seattle can enjoy their snobbishly over-priced coffee all to themselves, isolated from the problem, ignorant of the impact, and revel in their “we know everything better than you” attitude that has made Seattle, and Starbucks, what it is.

Funny, I haven’t heard of anyone boycotting Mexico for their much harsher immigration policies. Or Syria, for harboring terrorists.
